York’s Top 100 Business Report is now fully online
THE latest edition of the York Top 100 Business Report is now fully available online.
The city’s top performing companies are revealed in the special publication which provides a platform for success stories worth citing.
This annual report was produced by The Press, The Business School at York St John University and Make it York to provide a definitive list of York’s top employers.
The Top 100 was gathered using an algorithm developed by the York Business School, taking into account key performance factors such as revenue, profits, growth and headcount.

“It has been just over a year since I joined Make It York as President, and during that time I have been extremely impressed with the creativity, innovation and resilience of the city’s businesses, especially during this extremely difficult year. , with all areas of life and business affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“York’s business landscape is extremely diverse – with world-class companies in a number of key industries.
“From a state-of-the-art railroad industry and thriving food and beverage manufacturers to a cutting-edge biotech sector and innovative cultural and creative ventures, York’s business community is truly unique and we should all be proud.
“The York Top 100 is an extremely important publication that recognizes local businesses for their contribution to the city’s economic prosperity and showcases their wonderful successes.
“This year’s publication is a true testament to the hard work of the city’s businesses and a celebration of their achievements.
“Well done to the talented team at the Business School of York St John University for their work on this publication, which has brought together their in-depth research and analysis of financial data.
“Special thanks also go to Dr Bob Gammie and Dr Rebecca Biggins for their dedication and commitment to the development of this project and the hard work that went into it.
