TLA moves convention online amid new pandemic restrictions

On December 21, the B.C. government implemented additional measures to the COVID-19 Provincial Health Ordinance restricting all indoor social events of any size until January 18, 2022.
As such, the Truck Loggers Association (TLA) made the difficult and unfortunate decision to cancel in-person attendance at the 78th Annual TLA Convention + Trade Show, January 12-14, 2022. All delegates who attended previously purchased tickets will receive a full refund, which will be processed by January 7, 2022.
Despite this in-person cancellation, we believe it is still very important to continue with a condensed agenda focused on the government’s forest policy modernization goals and recent decisions regarding old-growth forests. Feedback from registrants we interviewed indicated a strong interest in a short virtual event. Therefore, the good news is that we’re going to be doing two half-day virtual events:
APPOINTMENT:
Wednesday January 12, 2022 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Thursday January 13, 2022 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
In these tumultuous times, TLA believes it is very necessary to bring together industry stakeholders to start a conversation about options to move our industry forward. We encourage you to attend these sessions and participate in starting the consultation process that needs to be done and advocating for the right changes in the future.
As the year progresses and COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, we will be offering other options to broadcast the remaining topics originally planned for the convention. The hope is that some of them can be in person.
Thanks for your patience and understanding. We look forward to seeing you virtually in January!
