Texas Roadhouse turns one of its most beloved menu items into a candle.
The steakhouse chain now sells Honey Cinnamon Butter candles, with a scent inspired by the sweet butter it serves with its freshly baked buns. (And no, it’s not edible.)
The 13-ounce candles are $12 and headline the new chain of online product storewhich also sells t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, tumblers and more.
Customers have apparently been asking for Texas Roadhouse products for years, CEO Jerry Morgan said in a statement.
“What better way to kick off our retail efforts than a honey and cinnamon butter candle, so customers can enjoy a little Texas Roadhouse in their homes,” he said.
The store also includes house grilled steaksthat the channel launched last year.
Roadhouse joins a number of other restaurant brands that have started selling merchandise as a new way to engage with customers. Chili’s, PF Chang’s, Dunkin’ and Taco Bell have all sold apparel online, often in limited quantities that sell out quickly.
Quirky candles and other scented products have been popular and tend to generate buzz online. Chipotle last month launched a “water cup candle” that smells of lemonade, a blow to customers who abuse the chain’s free cups of water policy. And KFC’s herb and spice flavored log has become a holiday staple.
