Online course on how to start an artisanal food business
LOCAL Enterprise Office (LEO) Wicklow will be hosting a course in February, providing participants with the essentials they need to start their own business.
This training course is aimed at those wishing to start a local artisan food business in Wicklow. It will be aimed at those exploring the possibility of running a cafe or trailer or making local food products.
The trainer will be James Burke, JB&A, who is a consultant in the food sector.
LEO Wicklow said the aim of this workshop is to provide entrepreneurs in Wicklow with the foundational knowledge needed to run a successful local food business.
Course content will include understanding the local food culture, food in tourism, where to sell your product, exploring the basic tools to get started, the right product, and basic legal requirements. There will also be a guest speaker as a Wicklow-based food producer who will also tell his story of how he started his food business.
The course costs € 20 and takes place online via Zoom on Wednesday February 9 from 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.
