A NEW fish and chips has opened in downtown Halesowen and is a hit with customers.

Fish & Chips Halesowen opened in the former Miss Fish unit on Hagley Road.

It belongs to Loukia Pantelis, whose sister ran Miss Fish.

Loukia, a 53-year-old married mom, worked at Miss Fish from 1983 to 1986, so she’s making a comeback in town!

She said: “I decided to take it back and have it completely renovated.

“I spent a lot of money to do it.

“It has gone very well so far.

“We had a very good reception.”

The new fish and chips

Loukia said her husband Hermes Pantelis, who is a builder, renovated the store and her electrician-in-law Ari Aristotelous did all of the electricity.

She said the store, which opened last Thursday (April 22), employs six part-time workers and is open from 11:45 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Loukia said she plans to run a 50% off promotion for two days in a few weeks.

The fish and chips has a Facebook site.

I love local businesses

We are launching our Love Local Business campaign to encourage people to spend their money locally as they emerge from months of restrictions and closures.

Love Local Business is a follow-up to the successful campaign of the same name we ran in the News Group last summer and over Christmas.

The aim is to promote all the fantastic traders we have in our cities and to urge our readers to give them their custom at this key time in the struggle to overcome the financial implications of the pandemic.

As a member of the Newsquest Publishing Group, the Halesowen & Dudley News reaches a huge percentage of the local population through our well-established regional brands, including print publications, record online audiences and social media.

Any business wishing to be featured in the campaign, call 01905 742372 or email [email protected]
