Hanoi (VNS/VNA) – The capital Hanoi promotes information technology (IT), including the use of QR codes, in traceability to increase the consumption of agricultural products on e-commerce platforms.

Director of Hanoi Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Quality Management Sub-Department Nguyen Thi Thu Hang said that at present, Hanoi’s agro-food traceability system Hanoi had improved information transparency for about 653 companies with nearly 11,000 sets of traceability codes for agriculture, forestry and fishery products.

“Companies and cooperatives using QR codes have helped them and consumers to prevent food of unknown origin from entering the domestic market,” Hang said.

“Agricultural products labeled as part of safe production chains are sold at prices 10 to 30% higher than traditional products.”

Computer application in production and consumption has also gradually improved the ability of cooperatives and enterprises to produce and supply products, according to Hang. Consumers can use smartphones to access the date, month of manufacture, expiry date and origin of goods.

Hoang Van Tham, director of Chuc Son Organic Vegetable Cooperative in Chuong My district, said that at present, the connection and consumption of the cooperative’s products are synchronous with the channels of modern retail outlets such as supermarkets and e-commerce halls.

The traceability stamp has enabled the cooperative to stabilize the consumption of plant products on the market. The cooperative has supplied 3 tons of vegetables per day to many supermarket systems such as Big C and T-mart, large hospitals and schools. He earned 11 billion VND per year.

Dang Thi Cuoi, director of the Cuoi Quy organic vegetable production cooperative in Dan Phuong district, said that all vegetable products from the cooperative have QR codes to trace their origin.

This cooperative supplies vegetables to kindergartens in Dan Phuong district and Bac Tom’s clean food store chain, as well as six wholesale markets in the area.

To promote the application of QR codes in the production and trade of agricultural products, Dam Van Dua, director of Dong Cao General Service Cooperative in Me Linh District, said departments and sectors in Hanoi should continue to support cooperatives in the application of information technologies to production and to upload information on the origin of agricultural products to the capital’s traceability sites.

At the same time, Hanoi authorities also need to establish a connection in the consumption of agricultural products between businesses and modern sales channels, Dua said. Meanwhile, the cooperatives themselves will continue to closely manage the farmers’ daily production log and then upload the information to the traceability management systems.

Thanh Oai District People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Trong Khien said Thanh Oai District has strengthened strict food safety management and promoted the application of QR codes to trace products.

He also provided training to all production structures in the district to deploy a traceability system for agricultural products and goods. This district has also supported cooperatives by participating in fairs to improve the consumption of agricultural products.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Agriculture and Rural Development Department Nguyen Ngoc Son said Hanoi aims to build 50 production lines to createthisagricultural products by 2050.

These chains will have concentrated cultivation regions and will apply computer and QR codes in the production and consumption of agricultural products in order to promote the traceability of these products.

In addition, to make information transparent, Hanoi will encourage and support cooperatives for the production, processing and marketing of agricultural, forestry and sea products by implementing traceability and marketing activities on e-commerce platforms. . They will improve the competitiveness of enterprises and improve the distribution of goods.

HanoiThe agriculture sector determined that promoting digitalization is essential and called for the construction of an electronic sales channel.

He recently helped 12 cooperatives and production facilities to access Vietnam Post Corporation’s Postmart e-commerce platform.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Post Bui Van Hoang said that to support trade promotion activities in Hanoi’s agricultural sector, Hanoi Post will coordinate with relevant offices to examine and release agricultural products to market. of Postmart e-commerce, linking the consumption of agricultural products to Postmart and the point-of-sale system.

At the same time, it will coordinate with them to build high-quality data on agricultural products and goods.

According to the director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hanoi, Chu Phu My, to renew trade promotion activities, Hanoi’s agricultural sector will focus on the development of online trade promotion channels and the promotion of digital transformation.

Specifically, it will organize trade promotion activities and expand consumer markets for essential agricultural commodities and products under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) programme.

It will also diversify advertising business modes and develop a chain of stores for OCOP products and local key products in e-commerce platforms and tourist destinations in the city.

The agricultural sector will develop a data system of cultivation areas, processing and types of agricultural products to create favorable conditions for putting these products on the e-commerce platform./.
