One of the Southwest’s iconic commercial properties has sold, surpassing the $1 million mark. The George Taylor stores in Grassmere have been sold by First National Real Estate Warrnambool to a regional investor. Agent Christine Steere said the sale price “passed the million dollar mark” and the investor had a sentimental interest in the history of George Taylor stores throughout the district. She said there were no plans to change, with the investor “very happy” with George Taylor Stores as a long-term tenant. Ms. Steere said First National Real Estate responded to more than 30 inquiries during the sale process, with interest coming from across the state. “Negotiations are continuing for the Camperdown George Taylor Store site which is now proposed,” she said.
